Sheet extruder Select Plastics LLC plans to set up an operation in Scott City, Mo.
Select Plastics, based in Fort Worth, Texas, will be close to Midwest customers in the Scott City location, according to information from the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
The expansion includes a $5.3 million investment and should create 28 new jobs, stated a Feb. 24 MDED news release. The project is Select Plastics' first expansion outside Fort Worth.
Privately-held Select Plastics has been extruding custom sheet since 1997. It makes a wide range of products, including single, multilayer and laminated sheet. Its extrusions include ABS and ABS blends, thermoplastic polyolefins and high-impact polystyrene. Key markets include transportation and marine.
Select Plastics managing partners Greg Nagel and Steve Ploeger noted the location and availability of skilled workers for helping attract the company to the city.
MDED is offering Select Plastics economic incentives if it meets job creation and investment critieria. Local government agencies also pledged to assist the project. |
